Cartoon Network Frees Up Your Weekday Afternoons
Starting mid-April, Toonami will air from 7pm to 2am saturday
nights. The new schedule will seemingly be filled with
nothing but anime and Japanese-influenced cartoons. New to
the Toonami line-up include Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug, Duel
Masters, Gundam SEED, and RAVE Master, .hack//SIGN, and Knights
of the Zodiac. (NOTE: Several of these titles have aired
through different Cartoon Network programs, but not Toonami)
Old favorites will include Dragon Ball Z, Cyborg 009, Dragon
Ball GT, and Transformers: Energon.
No changes with the Adult Swim line-up that haven't already been
reported, but new episodes of Inu Yasha and the premiere of
Wolf's Rain are still tentatively planned for late April.
Also expect another run of FLCL. Originally Adult Swim was
rumored to be moving anime back to the Saturday time slot,
but Toonami's move proves the weekday time slot will remain.
Shows such as Astro Boy will be expelled from Cartoon Network.
Though a new childrens' block called Mizugi will air in place
of Toonami, no anime will be featured on it. However, I'd
think that it would still be showing on Kids WB.
