Climate Change ISA POSITION : Operations Manager REPORTING TO : General Manager MISSION Maximize sales and profits through the development and supervision of store staff, the coordination and execution of Front End and Receiving operations, and the company customer service commitment. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: Ensuring that all aspects of store operations consistently meet Indigo standards. Maintaining consistent sales focus in Front End and Receiving with the goal of meeting or exceeding profit and iREWARDS card sales targets. Effectively managing the Front End departments: the cashwrap, banking function and deposits, magazines and special orders. Training employees on corporate loss prevention and cash handling procedures. Ensuring ongoing adherence to these policies and procedures. Promoting and supporting the iREWARDS card and chapters.indigo.ca, and advise customers of special promotions. Know the basic store layout, general store information and be able to answer general customer questions about the entire store. Overseeing store shipping and receiving, ensuring timely and accurate shelving and returns. Recruiting and hiring top performing employees. Training and developing employees to consistently deliver our customer service commitment and to meet or exceed performance expectations. Identifying and developing a base of promotable employees. Scheduling Front End and Receiving staff effectively to maximize store productivity and operate within sales per labour hour guidelines. Controlling inventory, expenses and shrinkage to stay within budget. Setting priorities and foster teamwork within the store demonstrating leadership by providing training, motivation and coaching for your direct reports. Encouraging, promoting and demonstrating excellence through the establishment, communication and follow-up of performance standards. Training and developing employees to consistently deliver Indigo customer satisfaction and exceed performance expectations. Ensuring established merchandising guidelines are executed to maximize sales and profits. As Manager on Duty, ensuring that all staff are executing the Indigo selling process. Implementing guidelines that will ensure receiving is turned around within 24 hours Resolving all customer complaints in a manner that leaves the customer feeling satisfied and positive towards Indigo. AND YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS : Experience in retail, including direct experience managing operations in a superstore environment. Excellent information systems understanding and human resource management. Proven record of profitability and budget management. Availability to relocate within a 50 km radius of store is required. Some duties require heavy lifting and repetitive bending. May require prolonged standing. Exceptional analytical, interpersonal decision making and organizational skills. Thorough knowledge and understanding of retail operations policies and procedures.
