Mutou Sugoroku

Yugi's eccentric grandfather, Sugoroku (Solomon) was once an archaelogist who did some field work in Egypt, studying the remains of the pharaoh's tomb. In that process, he wound up shot and was about to plunge to his death, when the spirit of a pharaoh came and saved him. Next thing he knew, he had obtained the box that contained the Millennium Puzzle, which he gave to Yugi to solve.

Sugoroku is aware of the Millennium Puzzle's dangers, as the person who solves it is supposedly to inherit the shadow games. He had recently (in the manga) learned of the other Yugi, confirming his past experience with the pharaoh's spirit.

A funny old man, Sugoroku has his perverted as well as crazy moments. He is the owner of the Kame (Turtle) Game Shop (the house he and Yugi live in is upstairs of that). In his past, he thought it unlikely that he would wind up owning a game shop.
