"Hana-chan" can sense people "waves". She's Tohru's best friend and is very protective of her. Her cold demeanour scares her classmates. But, despite how she acts, she is really a very kind and caring person. She has commented several times at the beginning of the series about how odd the Sohma family member's "waves" are.
