Below are quotes from Volume 9.

Note: These quotes were taken by me. I spent time actually going through the Volumes and picking out good quotes (sad, I know, lol). Please get my permission to use them or I’ll get Kyou to use you as a scratching post. ^^

(Yuki is remembering what Kakeru said earlier):“You’re a pretty interesting guy!”
Yuki (to Tohru, they’re washing and drying dishes): I was……a little taken aback. That really was the first time……I’d been told anything like that. So it made me a little………..…happy

Kureno (thinks) (thinks this while remembering how he met Uo-chan, so the thoughts are not all altogether but that’s how I’ve put them in this quote) (“you” refers to Uo-chan): It happened at least ten days ago……at a convenience store, late at night. You were there. I don’t know why……but you were laughing so happily. …..and it was so pleasant. I wanted…to watch you forever.

Kureno (to Uo-chan, while they’re eating lunch together): It really was usual that I went to the convenience store that night. I usually don’t do pointless things. As has been established, I live and work.
Uo-chan (thinks): Pointless?
Kureno: So, on the other hand, when I get a day off, like today……I don’t know what to do with myself.
Uo-chan: Are you happy……living like that?
Kureno: I’m happy. I have everything I want. I’m content. I’m sure…*he smiles* …I’m more content than anyone.
Uo-chan: In that case……you should look happier when you smile.
Kureno: Eh…? *Uo-chan stands up*
Uo-chan (thinks): I felt it……today……and when I first saw him. That smile of his…it’s an incredibly lonely smile. (says) I’m sorry! I’m sure it was pointless. Even though you and I met……during that wasted time…maybe I’m just s stupid girl…but that didn’t feel like a waste of time for me! Meeting at the convenience store……eating soba like this…ever since I met you I thought, maybe it was more than coincidence……that you bumped into me. I couldn’t get you out of my mind. Because, I thought, maybe our meeting meant something! Because……I was happy! Thanks I’m leaving! *She starts to walk off*
Kureno: ………..!
Uo-chan (thinks): That pisses me off! I don’t know why, but it really pisses me off! Well, sorry for wasting your time! And sorry for making you waste your money, buying me lunch! And sorry……for not being able to make you smile……like you were having fun.
Kureno: …sa! Arisa, wait!
Uo-chan: What makes you think you can start calling me by my first name, bastard!?
Kureno: Eh? But--
Uo-chan: Don’t follow me, don’t talk to me—I’m mad as hell right now!
Kureno: Please, calm down. Okay…? Please don’t cry.
Uo-chan: I’m not crying!
Kureno: *She stopped walking away from him* I’m sorry. I spoke without thinking. I was happy, too……that you spoke to me. Really. (thinks) Running until you’re covered in sweat……just to talk to me… (says) I……wanted to see you. Ever since that night. (thinks) I couldn’t get you out of my mind either.
Uo-chan: o--okay. Heh heh.
Kureno: Are you blushing?
Uo-chan: *She kicks him as she says:*SHUT UP!
Kureno: Hee hee…you are blushing. *He smiles*
Uo-chan (thinks): Ah…now that’s a real smile
*He holds her hand and puts a hand to her face. Then he lets go and walks away without saying anything.*
Uo-chan (thinks as she watches him walk away): It’s like……he just said……”I love you.”

Megumi (to Hana-chan) (Saki is her Hana-chan’s first name): Then……I will pray. Because there’s no way……that Saki is meant to be alone her whole life……in this world……in this world overflowing with people. I can’t believe that there’s not one person out there……who wouldn’t love Saki.

Kazuma (to Kyou but Tohru’s in the room too): Sorry, sorry. The book was so interesting, I couldn’t put it down. It’s Shigure-kun’s new book.
Kyou: BURN IT!

Kazuma (thinks) (“he” refers to Kyou): This time last year……he wouldn’t even try to life his face, let alone smile. He was full of despair. He was filled with nothing but the scent of darkness……that resembled death.
