QUARTER FINALS

Obsession (Near) Vs. Gun Slinger (Far) Big quarter final round matchups started off with team Gun Slinger as Hartsock faced off with Logan. Hartsock continued to dial his truck in but Logan gave him everything Scott could handle and made it a close race.
WINNER: Gun Slinger
Maximum Destruction (Near) Vs. Superman (Far) Chad Fortune has been hot in racing, but would it be enough to knock off the powerhouse that is Maximum Destruction? Fortune gave it a hard run, but once again it was the flat out dirt track corners of Foster that gave him the victory.


WINNER: Maximum Destruction
T-Maxx (Near) Vs. Grave Digger XIX (Far) John Seasock out qualified Anderson but Anderson learned from his mistakes in qualifing and laid down a fast and consistant lap as Seasock mirrored Anderson about 3 truck lengths behind.


WINNER: Grave Digger XIX
SEMI FINALS

Superman (Near) Vs. Gun Slinger (Far) If the quarter finals were big, the semi finals had to be considered gigantic! First up was the fast loser Fortune versus the #1 qualifier Hartsock. The trucks were even over the first set of cars, even over the second, and on the final corner and over the cars its Hartsock by INCHES over Fortune!



WINNER: Gun Slinger
Maximum Destruction (Near) Vs. Grave Digger XIX (Far) The matchup in Clear Channel Monster Truck racing squares off in the semi finals. Off the line its even and both trucks are flat out through the first corner and over the first jump. Into the second corner once again both trucks are throwing it sideways and pegging the RPMs but they are still even over the second jump. Into the final corner Foster finds the limit of how hard he can push his truck, and goes over the limit. Foster snaps the truck over and lands it on its side. Meanwhile Anderson not knowing Foster had rolled carries huge speed at the final ramp and gets MASSIVE air (you cans see Anderson right front tire coming into my shot of Fosters roll). Anderson had no chance of stopping the truck before smashing into the dumpsters at the end of the track.






WINNER: Grave Digger XIX
It was time for intermission and it was good timing for Anderson because his crash caused the entire front planetary to break. M-S and myself both went down into the pits to watch the action as members from Madusa, Superman, & T-Maxx all thrashed on the truck to get it ready for the finals.



FINALS

Grave Digger XIX (Near) Vs. Gun Slinger (Far) With time to spare, the crews got a new planetary into Digger in time for the final round. Off the line the trucks were even and over the first jump they are dead even. Around the second corner and over the second jump its Hartsock with a slight lead. Into the final corner Anderson is flat out and Hartsock is hard on the gas, at the line...TOO CLOSE TO CALL!

The replay showed over and over again was nearly too close to call, possibly a slight edge to Anderson, but after reviewing the tape a little closer, it was discovered that Anderson did not hit the final ramp with both front tires, handing the win to Scott Hartsock! The Florida bad luck is final over!
