The Odyssey in Short
The Odyssey is the tale of Odysseus, King of Ithaca and famous
warrior of Troy. Spending an agonizing twenty years in exile from his home and
beloved, he struggles bravely on the immortal quest known as The Odyssey.
Through persecution by both man, god, and sea, he returns to his home only to face
one other horror- the destruction and siege laid to his lands by treachery, disloyalty,
and cruelty.
Allen Mandelbaum is the translator of the edition I use in contrast
to Beowulf.
