Sonic the Hedgehog (ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ, Sonikku za Hejjihoggu?) is a video game character and the protagonist of a series of games released by Sega, as well as numerous spin-off comics, cartoons and books. The first game in the franchise was released in 1991 in order to provide Sega with a mascot to rival Nintendo's flagship character Mario.[1] Since then, Sonic has become one of the world's best-known video game characters, with his series having sold over 44 million copies.[2]
Artist Naoto Ohshima, designer Hirokazu Yasuhara and programmer Yuji Naka are generally credited with the creation of the character,[3] a blue anthropomorphic hedgehog, whose ability to run faster than the speed of sound[4] is a major part of the gameplay of the series.[5] He is 15 years old,[6] and, as a hedgehog, is significantly shorter and lighter than humans his age, being about 100 centimeters (3 ft 3 in) tall and weighing 35 kilograms (77 lb).[7] His birthday is June 23, the date of the original game's release. Recent game trailers have shown him to be slighty taller than he was before.
Negi Springfield (ネギ・スプリングフィールド Negi Supringufīrudo), is the main character of the manga/anime Negima: Magister Negi Magi (魔法先生ネギま!, Mahō Sensei Negima!?). He is the homeroom and English teacher of Class 3-A (formerly 2-A) of Mahora Academy Middle School.
Kirby (カービイ, Kābii?) is a fictional character in a series of video games published by Nintendo. He has been the star of a number of namesake games developed by HAL Laboratory. Kirby has also become a popular anime character in recent years.
Courage the Cowardly Dog was an American animated television series about a dog named Courage and his owners Muriel Bagge, a kindly old Scottish woman, and Eustace Bagge, a grumpy old farmer, living together in a farmhouse in the middle of the town of Nowhere, Kansas (often described as The Middle of Nowhere).
Originally, Courage started out as a Canadian, one-episode cartoon, which was featured in the Cartoon Network special "The Fifty Greatest Cartoons of All Time." In the original cartoon, there was no dialogue, except for a line spoken by Courage (who was voiced by a different, authoritative voice in this short). An alien chicken was the villain in this short, and it would come back for its revenge in the American series.
Courage the Cowardly Dog was created by John R. Dilworth, who directed each episode, and is produced and aired by Cartoon Network. The show stopped airing on November 22, 2002, until 2005, when Courage the Cowardly Dog began reruns on Cartoon Network's block, "Cartoon Cartoons". In Britain, the show is currently broadcast on the "Cartoon Cartoons" hour block as well as in half-hour compilations on the UK-only Cartoon Network Too. As of October 2nd, 2006, Courage The Cowardly Dog is currently reairing on Cartoon Network in America.
Darkwing Duck is an American animated television series produced by The Walt Disney Company that ran from 1991 to 1992 on both the syndicated programming block The Disney Afternoon and Saturday mornings on ABC. It featured an eponymous superhero anthropomorphic duck with the alter ego of Drake Mallard (voiced by Jim Cummings).
Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy is an American/Canadian animated television series created by Danny Antonucci and produced by a.k.a. Cartoon for Cartoon Network. The series, which was Cartoon Network's fifth Cartoon Cartoon, was first aired in 1999. Originally, there were only going to be four seasons; however, Cartoon Network has ordered two more, giving the series a total of six seasons. It is currently the longest running original cartoon on Cartoon Network.
The series revolves around three pre-adolescent boys: Ed, Edd, and Eddy (collectively known as "the Eds"). The three hang around in their suburban neighborhood of Peach Creek Estates, where "the cul-de-sac" is located. Led by Eddy, the Eds scheme to make money off their peers, but their plans usually fail, leaving them in various predicaments. The characters almost never leave the neighborhood, and adults are nowhere to be found.
Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy is unusual in that it is animated wholly using traditional cel animation, while most cartoons are now animated using computer animation. The use of painted cels lasted up to the end of the fourth season. Though the show is still entirely hand-drawn, all cels are colored digitally, since no animation studio paints cels anymore. It is the last major cartoon to use painted cels.
Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy uses a moderate version of Squigglevision. The crawling lines are not nearly as active as those in Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist, but are still visible. Much of the unfavorable press that Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy has received has been because of this animation technique. Conversely, Danny Antonucci calls it a "wobble" effect, and likens it to cartoons of the 1930s where the film tended to be unstable and give the same effect.
Garfield is a comic strip created by Jim Davis, featuring the cat Garfield, the pet dog Odie, and their socially inept owner Jon Arbuckle. As of 2006, it is syndicated in roughly 2,570 newspapers and journals and it currently holds the Guinness World Record for being the world’s most widely syndicated comic strip.[1] The popularity of the strip has led to an animated cartoon show, several animated television specials and two feature-length live-action films, as well as a large amount of Garfield-related merchandise.

Pikachu (ピカチュウ, Pikachuu?) are one of the 493 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar[1] Pokémon media franchise—a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards, and other media created by Satoshi Tajiri. The purpose of Pikachu in the games, anime, and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon—untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments—and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.[2] Pikachu is among the most recognizable of Pokémon, considering a Pikachu is one of the main characters in the Pokémon anime series.
In the Pokémon universe Pikachu are mammals that have short, yellow fur with brown stripes on their backs, black-tipped ears, and an unusually shaped tail, resembling a lightning bolt. They are often found in forests, plains, and occasionally near electrical sources (such as power plants), on most continents throughout the world.[3] Pikachu often travel in packs, and are rarely territorial, however, when threatened, a group can generate an intense electrical offensive, and the electro-magnetic forces exerted by the resulting field can even produce a short lived, localized thunderstorm.[4]

Inspector Gadget is an animated television series about a clumsy, absent-minded, and oblivious detective, Inspector Gadget, who is a cyborg with various "gadgets" built into his anatomy. Gadget's main nemesis is the mysterious Dr. Claw, leader of an evil organization known as MAD. This was the merchandising company DiC Entertainment's first syndicated show, and ran from 1983 to 1986 in syndication. This article pertains to the original cartoon series and its characters and plots; for information on its later spinoffs, see Inspector Gadget spinoff incarnations.
Don Adams, who voiced the titular character, also played the main character on the hit 1960s American television series Get Smart!; a secret agent named Maxwell Smart. As a result, similarites between the two series' and his characters are often drawn. However, Inspector Gadget has far more in common with the bumbling trench coat–clad Inspector Clouseau of The Pink Panther movie series than Get Smart!. In fact in the pilot episode of Inspector Gadget, Gadget had a moustache just like Clouseau's. It was removed afterwards apparently because MCA threatened to sue because he was too similar to Clouseau. The episode was even voiced so Gadget could claim the moustache was simply part of a disguise.
The series was later adapted into a movie of the same name, which spawned a direct-to-video sequel.
The name has passed into common parlance to refer to people similarly obsessed with gadgetry.
Gatomon is a fictional character from the Digimon franchise, a curious and mischievous Digimon. A Saint Beast Digimon, Gatomon's cute look covers her talents as a fighter. Sasami: Mahou Shoujo Club (砂沙美☆魔法少女クラブ, Sasami: Mahō Shōjo Kurabu?) is a magical girl anime which features the rather familiar likenesses of Sasami and other characters of the Tenchi Muyo! franchise, specifically those of Pretty Sammy, although the animation style is different and the anime itself is set in a very different alternate universe. Produced by AIC and BeSTACK and officially recognized as a Tenchi Muyo! spin-off, it is aired in WOWOW on Thursday nights, the show aired its first season from April 13 to July 13, 2006. Since October 6 of the same year, a second season is currently being aired.

Winnie-the-Pooh is a fictional bear created by A. A. Milne. He appears in the books Winnie-the-Pooh (published October 14, 1926) and The House at Pooh Corner (1928). Milne also wrote two books of children's poetry, When We Were Very Young and Now We Are Six, which include several poems about Winnie-the-Pooh. All four volumes were illustrated by E. H. Shepard. The setting of the stories is based on the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex, England. The name "Winnie" was inspired by a pet bear of a Canadian soldier, named after his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba.[1]
Some of Pooh Bear's friends include Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore, Rabbit, Roo, Kanga, Owl, Christopher Robin, and many other friends that the gang makes on their journeys.
The Pooh stories were later made into a series of Winnie the Pooh (without hyphens) featurettes by Walt Disney Productions, which became one of the company's most successful franchises worldwide.
The character Gopher was added in the Disney version.

Scooby-Doo is a long-running American animated television series produced for Saturday morning television in several different versions from 1969 to the present. The series was created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears for Hanna-Barbera Productions, who produced numerous spin-offs and related works until being absorbed in 1997 into Warner Bros, which has handled production since then. Though the format of the show and the cast (and ages) of characters have varied significantly over the years, the most familiar versions of the show feature a talking Great Dane named Scooby-Doo and four teenagers: Fred "Freddie" Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, and Norville "Shaggy" Rogers.
These five characters (officially referred to collectively as "Mystery, Inc.", but never referred to as such in the original series) drive around the world in a van called the "Mystery Machine," and solve mysteries typically involving tales of ghosts and other supernatural forces. At the end of each episode, the supernatural forces turn out to have a rational explanation (usually a criminal of some sort trying to scare people away so that they can commit crimes). Later versions of the show featured different variations on the supernatural theme of the show, and include additional characters, such as Scooby's cousin Scooby-Dum and nephew Scrappy-Doo, in addition to or instead of some of the original characters.
Scooby-Doo was originally broadcast on CBS from 1969 to 1976, when it moved to ABC. ABC cancelled the show in 1986, but presented a spin-off, A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, from 1988 until 1991. A new Scooby-Doo series, What's New, Scooby-Doo?, aired on the WB Network during the Kids' WB! programming block from 2002 until 2005. The current Scooby-Doo series, Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!, airs Saturday mornings on The CW network. Repeats of the original series, as well as second-run episodes of What's New, Scooby-Doo?, are broadcast frequently on the Cartoon Network and Boomerang in the United States and other countries.
